Indonesian culture could be defined as all local culture available before his form wa national Indonesia during 1945. All local culture that came from multitudinous culture of ethnic groups in Indonesia was the integral part than Indonesian culture.
Indonesian culture althought being of various types, but basically was formed and affected by other big culture like Tionghoa culture, Indian culture and Arabian culture. Indian culture especially entered from the spreading of the Hindu religion and Buddha the Indonesian Archipelago long before Indonesia was formed. Characterised kingdoms the Hindu religion and Buddha could dominate the Indonesian Archipelago in the 5th Masehi age was marked by the eldest royal establishment in the Indonesian Archipelago, Kutai, to the end 15th Masehi age.
Tionghoa culture entered and influenced Indonesian culture because of the interaction of the trade that was intensive between traders Tionghoa and the Indonesian Archipelago (Sriwijaya). Moreover, many also that entered together expatriates Tionghoa that came from the south Tiongkok area and resided in the Indonesian Archipelago. They stabilised and merried the local inhabitants produced the blend of Tionghoa culture and local that was unique. Culture lke this that afterwards became one of the roots than local modern in Indonesia like Javanese culture and Betawi.
Arabian culture entered together with the spreading of the Islam religion by Arabian traders who stopped over in the Indonesian Archipelago in their trip towards Tiongkok.
Indonesian culture consisted of several categories like: The Traditional house, dance, song, music, musical instrument, picture, statue, clothes, voice, literature / article, food and typical modern Indonesian culture.
